“INTRO TO NEGOTIATION: BUILDING CONFIDENCE AND SKILLS,” delivers practical strategies drawn from crisis negotiation, teaching participants how to “negotiate like your life depends on it.”
Participant Outcomes:
Building Trust Through Respectful Communication: Participants will learn how to approach conversations with professionalism, integrity, and empathy. By treating negotiation as a collaboration (not a confrontation) and upholding ethical standards, they will strengthen relationships, foster mutual respect, and build long-term credibility in any setting.
Listening to Understand, Not Just to Respond: Through active listening and mirroring techniques, participants will gain the ability to truly hear others. These tools help clarify intent, reduce misunderstandings, and make others feel valued — skills essential in both personal and professional relationships.
Turning “No” into a Constructive Conversation: Participants will discover how to respond productively when faced with hesitation or resistance. By reframing “No” as an opportunity to uncover underlying concerns, they will become more adaptable and solution-oriented in their daily interactions.
Guiding Conversations with Emotional Intelligence: Participants will learn how to label emotions and use calibrated questions (starting with “What” or “How”) to guide conversations toward resolution. These skills foster calm, collaboration, and shared problem-solving in challenging situations.
